1973 MGB GT
The original MGB Roadster first appeared in mid 1962. It used
4-cylinder B-series engines. In October 1967, the more powerful
3-litre 6-cylinder MGC was added to the range. It was easily
recognised by its larger 15-inch wheels and long bonnet.
In 1980, production came to an end. By this point the chrome front
and rear bumpers had been replaced with less attractive black rubber
bumpers. The MGB became very popular at the time and still remains a
popular classic. There are plenty of spares and parts available.
The 1970's was a decade of funky interiors. If the interior isn't
really your choice, then there are interior trim kits available from
MG Owner's Club in a good choice of colours.
The 1973 MGB GT has a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The
15-inch wheels can tackle undulating B-roads with ease. It can easily
achieve a top speed of 100mph. An average/good conditioned 1973 MGB
GT will cost in the region of £6995.
